Fondazione Blu - Solidarity for childhood education

The 'Sneha Neer' project

A creche of care and love

Every day in Calcutta thousands of children in their early childhood are abandoned and will not receive the stimulation necessary for correct intellectual and emotional development. This is due to severe and chronic diseases, as well as frequent school drop-out.

Fondazione Blu aims to finance and continuously support a project located in rural villages around Kolkata and in urban slums, in order to create a system of crèches.
The ‘Sneha Neer’, true love and care crèches, are run under the supervision of CINI, Child in Need Institute.
Their purpose is to educate and stimulate the intellectual and emotional growth of children in need, allowing at the same time their parents to commit themselves to the difficult work of daily sustaining the family. The parents are also involved and educated in the pedagogical and educational activities of child care.
Some adolescents are selected and trained to assist children at the crèches and to provide support to their families.
